Bioteos, a company specialized in the purification of indoor air and founded by Romain Baheux and Romain Dhenin, raised €1.2 million. The tour was carried out with the support of the Kaloma Capital fund, Family Office of the entrepreneur Mathieu TARNUS, founder of the software publishing group Positive. Other actors, in particular BPI France, French Tech and CIC joined the operation.
The objective of this round is clear for Bioteos: to accelerate its research and development, to increase its production capacities and to extend its presence on the market at the national level.
Air quality is becoming a major concern for many indoor spaces, whether in public places or private business areas. The Covid crisis, but also the increasing sensitivity of decision-makers of companies of all sizes to QVTC has led to the emergence of new needs, that of offering ever healthier air while adopting an approach that has the least impact on the environment.
Bioteos made a promising start in 2019 at REV3, Euratechnologies and Cré'Innov as incubators. In 2022, in partnership with the European Metropolis of Lille, they tested and validated the world's first biological air purifier in a subway thanks to their technology based on microalgae. Today, the start-up has set up shop at La Ruche de l'Union in Tourcoing and intends to accelerate its development. The company is already equipping dozens of companies with its eco-responsible purification terminals and is seeing its order book grow day by day.

Romain & Romain :
Our mission is to provide solutions that respond effectively to these health and environmental responsibility issues, while improving air quality.
This fundraising represents a crucial step in allowing us to accelerate our development and broaden our impact. By investing more in research and development, we will be able to perfect our technologies and make our air purifiers even more efficient.
As founders, we see this fundraising not only as a means of growth, but also as an increased responsibility towards our users and the environment. This gives us the resources we need to reach more businesses and public spaces, where air quality has a direct impact on everyone's health and well-being.
Mathieu TARNUS, Kaloma Capital
I have always been sensitive to the quality of the working environment of my employees. For some time now, we have focused the majority of our investments at Kaloma Capital on projects that have an impact, whether on the environment, health or the quality of life at work. When I met the managers of Bioteos, I was impressed by this passionate team. They have designed a bio-responsible solution, machines entirely manufactured in France and using technology and a resource that is 100% natural and omnipresent on Earth, microalgae. These are the basis of life on Earth by contributing to the production of 50% of the oxygen we breathe. Why use anti-pollutant filters that themselves have an environmental impact on the planet?
This industrial project fits perfectly into our investment strategy at Kaloma Capital, we are delighted to join the adventure that is only just beginning and intend to actively support and support Bioteos in its development.”
Thanks to this funding, Bioteos counts on:
Bioteos aims to develop nationally by 2025 and abroad (Southeast Asia and North America) by 2027, by offering solutions adapted to local needs. They are also working to strengthen their partnerships with other companies that care about air quality and the well-being of their employees. The investors who support them share this vision and believe in their ability to transform this market, their trust being a guarantee of success for Bioteos.
Bioteos is a start-up created in June 2021 by Romain Baheux, Engineer at Polytech Lille. He has a master's degree in entrepreneurship obtained at the IAE in Lille. And Romain Dhenin, Engineer from the Polytech Lille school. He also has an MBA in International Business obtained at the IAE in Lille.
Faced with the observation that every year, in the world, 9 million people lose their lives due to air pollution, they have developed a patented technology based on the potential of microalgae to improve the air quality of indoor spaces. They integrated this technology into a 2m30 high and 80 cm wide column: OXYLON Urban, the world's first biological air purifier installed in a subway. Building on the feedback obtained, they miniaturized this process to design OXYLON S, a biological air purifier this time adapted for tertiary spaces.
Today, Bioteos has a dozen machines deployed, in particular at the Tisserin Group, the CCI Hauts-de-France, Ayming, CPA or Covivio.
