Microalgae are a group of several types of microorganisms that have one essential thing in common: their ability to photosynthesize. Photosynthesis allows these microscopic organisms to use carbon dioxide for food. Microalgae are also capable of reducing the concentration of PM and VOCs in the air.
Our system integrates living microalgae into compact devices that purify the air by capturing harmful particles and transforming them into harmless biomass, thus effectively and sustainably improving indoor air quality.
Unlike conventional HEPA filters, which have to be discarded and become waste, our microalgae can be reused as biostimulants for plants, thus turning the filter into a 100% recyclable natural fertilizer.
